Tobacco Prevention and Control Efforts in Rural America: Current Local Health Department Successes and Challenges
When: Tuesday, June 18, 2019, from 2:00PM-3:00 PM ET
Local health departments (LHDs) play a crucial role in strengthening tobacco control efforts in rural America with the highest tobacco use prevalence. In early 2019, NACCHO conducted an environmental scan with rural LHDs in hopes to better understand the facilitators, challenges, lessons learned, and resource needs of these health departments that are engaged in tobacco prevention and cessation work.
The purpose of this webinar is to educate and increase knowledge on LHD successes and challenges of current rural tobacco prevention and control efforts throughout the United States along with providing examples on cessation methods, tobacco and opioid connections, and e-cigarette programs.
Join this webinar to hear an overview of the NACCHO Rural Tobacco Environmental Scan and hear from three rural health department’s on their recent tobacco programs.
