State Anti-Tobacco Efforts Failing to Make the Grade

A nationwide survey of state anti-tobacco efforts conducted by the American Lung Association (ALA) gave failing grades to 40 states and the District of Columbia received failing grades with regard to anti-tobacco efforts. The "grades" were given in four areas of tobacco control: cigarette taxes, smoking bans, prevention funding, and cessation coverage.
