current smoker increases the risk of dying in 10 years to that of a

recent study of heart attack patients found that men and women smokers
are likely to suffer heart attacks at about the same age, eliminating
sex differences in age of first heart attack and suggesting that

Adult smoking rates drop to 21% -- September 15, 2008
According
to CESAR Fax, adult smoking rates in the U.S. dropped to 21% in 2008,

Comparing individuals who have smoked less than 100 cigarettes in their lifetime with those who have smoked at least five cigarettes per day for the past five years, University of Michigan researchers found that those who were regular smokers were more likely to have a variant of the CRNA5 gene.
