Germany have found it advantageous to quit smoking before surgery. Tell your
clients that quitting allows more oxygen into your blood stream, which quickens

Minimal Tobacco exposure
still harms your heart -- September 15, 2009
A Study evaluating over a million subjects has concluded
that even minimal (less than one cigarette a day) cigarette smoke exposure is
very detrimental to your heart. People exposed to smoke showed significantly
elevated rates of risk for heart attack and stroke. Read more here.
Asking Mentally Ill Patients
to Quit should not be Feared -- September 15, 2009
Patients with
anxiety and depression would likely benefit from smoking cessation. Recent
studies have shown that these patients would not show increased symptoms if
they quit smoking. In fact, in seven of thirteen clinical trials, their

Smoking May Claim the Lives
of 6 Million people -- September 15, 2009
If the current trend in smoking prevalence does not
change, 6 million people may die due to tobacco related illnesses next year. In
