WELCOME TO Fax to Assist!

Overview

What is Fax to Assist?
Fax to Assist is an exciting and convenient way for you to refer your clients to Maryland's Quitline to help them quit smoking.

Who is eligible to become Fax to Assist certified?
All Maryland healthcare providers who are employed by a HIPAA-covered entity are eligible and encouraged to use Fax to Assist to help their clients quit smoking.

How do I become Certified?
In 3 easy steps:

1) There are 4 training modules that will provide you with information about the Fax to Assist program and how to become certified to be a Fax to Assist provider.
2) At the end of the 4 modules, you will be asked a series of 20 questions about what you have just read. You will need to correctly answer 70% of the questions to
be certified (you can take the quiz more than once).
3) Once certified, you will have access to our
downloadable referral forms and other tools to help your clients.

How long will it take?
It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete this process.

Can I earn CMEs?
Yes! Through partnership with St. Joseph Medical Center, Fax to Assist is an online CME program, and Maryland healthcare providers can earn 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM for completing this program.  After completing the certification quiz, you will have access to a brief evaluation survey and a Certificate of Completion for CME credit for your records (through the Download Files user menu).

How can I earn CME credit if I'm already certified?
If you became a certified Fax to Assist provider prior to Nov 10, 2008, please review the modules and complete the brief certification quiz again.  You will then be given access to the evaluation survey and a Certificate of Completion for CME credit through the Download Files user menu.
