Saturday, May 3, 2014

On Saturday, May 3, 2014 the MDQuit Resource Center facilitated a workshop for childcare providers at the Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Maryland.  The workshop titled, "Clean Air for Kids Everywhere" was targeted to childcare providers, and sought to draw on their knowledge and experiences. This presentation delivered educational information on first-, second- and third-hand smoke. Instructional and hands-on learning techniques to share and demonstrate strategies to support smoke-free settings for children and adults were used. A focus on preventive and cessation strategies available for use by childcare providers, educators and parents to help protect children from smoke exposure served as a main emphasis.
